                      Farmers visit to KVK

Jan: 2008

 Fifty four Live stock holders and Orchardists visited this Kendra for seeking advices for their live stock and laying-out techniques for their orchards and also pruning and training on scientific guide-lines. Scientist of Kendra gave on spot recommendations to the visitors.

Feb: 2008

Twelve Live stock holders of area visited along with their ailing cattle to the Kendra for diagnostic of disease and their remedy. Besides twenty-three Orchardists visited this Kendra for seeking advices for their orchard layout and preparation of diesel oil emulsion. Scientist of Kendra gave on spot recommendations to the visitors.

March: 2008

Twenty-two Live stock holders of area visited along with their ailing cattle to the Kendra for diagnosis of disease and their remedy. Besides twenty Farmers visited this Kendra for seeking advices for their orchard layout and for Soil sampling. Scientist of Kendra gave on spot recommendations to the visitors.

Twenty seven farmers were benefited as the experts and the scientists of the Kendra paid visit to different localities viz; Lalgam, Lalu, Galwanpora and kremsher villages of district Budgam. Farmers were given on-spot instructions in their own field regarding various problems of live stock and vegetables.

Feb: 2008

Twenty eight farmers were benefited as the experts and the scientists of the Kendra visited to different localities viz; Narkura, Chanmollah, Bathar Gopla pora, Humhama  and kralpora   villages of district Budgam. Farmers were given on-spot instructions in their fields regarding various problems of live stock and horticulture crops.

March: 2008

Thirty-one farmers were benefited as the experts and the scientists of the Kendra visited to different localities viz; Narkura, Bughgam, Banderpora,  Gopla pora, Rawalpora and kralpora  villages of district Budgam. Farmers were given on-spot instructions in their fields regarding various problems of live stock and horticulture crops.

2.0 Trainings

For practicing farmers/ Rural women, following trainings were conducted.

  • 1.    White button Mushroom and Dingiri Mushroom
  • 2.    Demonstration cum awareness Programme on Training pruning of  fruit  orchards
  • 3.    Post harvest management of quality apple fruit
  • 4.    Care and management of calf before and after weaning
  • 5.    Awareness programme on pollinizer  and pollinators in fruit crops
  • 6.    Management of kitchen waste

Feb: 2008

1.   Awareness cum Training Porg. On Rural Godown schemes  

   with  the sponsorship of Directorate of Marketing and Inspections

   (GOI)  at K.D. Research Station Old Airport w.e.f 1st-3rd 2008.

 

2   Prevention of insect infestation of grains

3. Preparation of balanced diet for different categories in dairy animals

b) Lecture on Rural Godown schemes was delivered by Dr. Gulzar A.Wani  Programme Coordinator at Kralpora village

a) Lecture on Mushroom Cultivation was delivered by Dr. G.A.Wani, Programme Coordinator  at village Banderpora, Budgam.

6.0 Exhibitions

Exhibition stall was laid at Bandipora during inaugural function of KVK Baramulla on 13th Janurary,2008 where Lt.Gen. S.K.Sinha , Governor J & K ,Chancellor of SKUAST-K was chief Guest of  the function.

Feb: 2008

a) Post harvest management of fruits and vegetables and their  quality maintenance delivered by Mr. Ab.Rouf SMS to field functionaries at CHO office Budgam.

b) Lecture on Rural Godown schemes was delivered by Dr. Gulzar A.Wani  Programme Coordinator at Kralpora village

Two TV talks were delivered by the Programme coordinator and Programme Asstt on seed treatment during the month.

Two TV talks were delivered by the Programme coordinator and SMS (H.S) of Kendra on activities of KVK Budgam and Rural Godown schemes.

March: 2008

TV talk was delivered by the SMS (A.H) of Kendra regarding Boiler management.

8.0Film shows

Package of practices of  various agriculture crops (CD’s) were displayed through LCD to  the farmers who attended Kendra on 1st-2nd Feb-2008.

Seed treatment campaign which was lunched by the Kendra in different localities of the District particularly in village Badipora, continued in other villages also. Where farmers  were given live demonstration of treatment of various seeds.

demonstrated to the farmers.
